I realize this has nothing to do with quitting smoking, but I happened across this video on YouTube. It features 3 of the greatest guitarists of all time playing together. There fingers are flying across their fretboards so fast there must be smoke coming off of them! The virtuosos are: John McLaughlin of Yorkshire England, Al di Meola of Jersey City NJ and Paco de Lucía of Algeciras Spain.

I hope you enjoy it.

Among all the reasons you should stop smoking the biggest reason has to be for your family and friends. Here is I video I found. It is the 2nd celebrity anti-smoking ad released by the American Cancer Society and the featured spokesman, Bill Talman, was in both. He died just 4 weeks after recording this.

William Talman is best remebered as the DA, Hamilton Burger, who lost evey case to Perry Mason in the television series “Perry Mason”. He left behind his wife and six children when he passed away due to cancer.

I realize that this question may open a real can of worms, and I truly wish everyone would stop smoking, but please bear with me. I was recently going through Heathrow airport, but we were delayed for a day and had to take a hotel overnight. I saw some smokers gathered outside and since I had some time to kill waiting for my wife and then catching our shuttle bus I decided I would ask them their views on the smoking ban inside the terminal.

All of them, every single one, said they had no problem with the non-smoking laws in their everyday lives and had no problem popping outside for a cigarette at work, bars, restaurants, etc. However they did have a problem with having no place inside the secure areas at airports and I began to see their point.

I was informed by many to consider that they may take a long flight, get off their plane, and then be waiting to transfer onto another long flight. And for them to “nip out for a smoke” wasn’t exactly a simple task. First they had to get out of the secure area, and sometimes this meant first passing through passport control. Then locate the outdoor smoking area. Then when they were finished, work their way back through security, and perhaps another round with passport control, all the while dragging their carry-on luggage around with them (when traveling alone).

So why can’t they have an area set aside for the smokers inside the secure area at the airports? I have seen some good ones with good ventilation, negative air pressure, etc, and you had to be standing damn near right in front of them to smell the smoke.

Or once when I was passing through Miami I saw an outdoor smoking area inside the secure area. It was like a little courtyard inside the terminal building with the only possibility for entry via the doorway. Why couldn’t the airport authorities build something similar in other terminals, maybe an external balcony?

Do You Really Want To Quit Smoking?

Did you make the New Year resolution to Stop Smoking? Well, have you quit yet? Millions of smokers around the world said they would stop smoking this year. But for many, the day never came. Maybe because of lack of motivation, maybe because you tried to do it on your own. Maybe you tried but gave up easily.

Lets face it. Smoking is a bad habit for a lot of reasons. No need to go into it, everyone knows the dangerous health risks involved. Mumbling the words “I’ll quit when this pack is gone” or “After the New Year” or a hundred other reasons you convince yourself now is not the time, are just excuses to keep smoking.

If you want to smoke, you are going to smoke. You are going to tell yourself that your father lived until 85 and smoked 2 packs a day, or your great uncle smoked for 70 years and was never sick a day in his life. Blah blah blah. You probably even tell yourself that you enjoy smoking. How on earth can inhaling smoke be enjoyable. I have listened to smokers coughing and hacking, it doesn’t sound enjoyable to me. How about that light up after a nice meal. Yeah, just what I want to do after I eat a delicious meal, wash it all down with some gritty disgusting smoke. You probably didn’t even taste the meal anyway because all your taste buds are completely destroyed and everything tastes like stale ash.

Smokers make up all kinds of reasons to keep smoking. “I’m under a lot of stress” or “I’ll gain weight”. Ultimately the decision to stop smoking has to be yours. Yes family and friends will bug you to stop, but if you attempt to quit smoking and you really do not want to, your chances of success are slim.

The point here is, if you want to stop smoking you will. Make the decision for the right reasons. Be dedicated to the task because you do not want to die a horrible, painful slow death. You want to wake up in the morning without going into a coughing fit, you want to be able to go up a flight of stairs and not gasp for precious air. You want to smell good and get rid of the bad breath. You want to be FREE!

Well, what are you waiting for? Are you going to stop smoking, today?

How To Stop Smoking Through Hypnosis

Smoking is a bit of a strange habit as it is one of those things that we really now that we shouldn’t do, but feel that we just can’t help it once we get hooked and become addicted. Its hold over us can seem to be one packed with amazing strength and power. Seeming to sap all our willpower and make us a slave to its tempting allure. If you are or have ever been a smoker you will understand just how hard smokers make it to give up! Yes you did read that right – smokers make giving up hard! In actual fact smoking is quite easy to stop once you stop making it difficult on yourself and stop making excuses. After all, most smokers quit every day when they go so sleep or when they are at work – sometimes going hours without a smoke and without any problems – well that is until they near a break time or until they head for the coffee machine just after waking.

So do you smoke, however really want to give up? If so then what excuses are you giving to yourself not to quit? Maybe you are saying things like, ‘it’s too hard to stop’, ‘the cravings are too powerful’, ‘and I have got no willpower to give up’. Well if you are saying these types of things to yourself then you need to challenge them as you are not quite telling yourself the truth. How do I know? Well I used to say things like this when I smoked. When I decided to really give up (instead of all of those half hearted attempts) I found it just as easy as it should be. In fact it was so simple that I really didn’t have to do anything. I actually had more time to do stuff as I didn’t have to go for a cigarette every 30 minutes. I have loads more cash too that I had saved from not buy a couple of packets of cigarettes each day – that really sweetened the deal for me as well.

When I gave up I just used self hypnosis and it was the most pleasurable and rewarding thing I have done. I now have more money, better health and I don’t smell of smoke anymore.

Simply put, hypnosis reprograms the part of your mind that holds your beliefs and habits, so it’s a great place to stop smoking. We refer to this part of your mind as your sub-conscious mind.

If you are really serious about getting your act together and stopping smoking right now, then I would recommend that you try a hypnosis download or recording and put this unwanted behaviour behind you right now. I wish you the best of luck and success in your new life as a non smoker.

Hypnosis helps you quit smoking by reprogramming your mind at a subconscious level to make changes to help change the way you deal with outside stimuli and stress. Hypnosis works by changing your negative habits and replacing them with more positive ways of thinking and a more positive attitude.
